What does "crunchy with a side of oreos" mean? Well, to keep it simple, we, as a family, follow a totally natural lifestyle, but we do realize we have children, and we live in a city, and well, sometimes we want some oreos (or things that are not totally healthy or I clean with Lysol wipes). But for the most part, we are natural, and for the most part, that is what my blog will be about. It will also include some photography (side business) as well as recipes, cute things my kids do, and crafts, along with general life. It's an outlet for me to write and post and show different things I do, because frankly, I think it's cool what I do, so why not share it with all of you :)
So what kind of things do we do that are "crunchy" or "natural"? Here's a list:
Natural Birth
Breastfed babies
Baby Led Weaning (with a bit of puree as well)
Cloth Diapered bums
Delayed vaccination schedule
Co-sleepers (until baby is happy in his own crib)
Natural Probiotics (kimchi, kombucha)
No antibiotics unless absolutely necessary (and we have a doctor that supports this)
Natural Cleaning products (except Lysol in the kitchen - I can't let it go!)
Natural body products (homemade and bought from local vendors)
We grow a garden in the summer
We grow herbs in the winter on the window sill
Outside play rather than indoors (when the weather isn't -15!)
We eat organic when possible
We eat local when possible
We eat out at small local restaurants that support local farmers
There is more, but this is what we focus on. Are we trying to be super heros? No. Are we 100% sticking to the list, no - but pretty close. Are we tree huggers - I don't think so.
So welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy reading it :)
